This
book is a close follow on from book 8 like The Siege of Macindaw and The Sorcerer
in the North.
Anyway
Will, Halt and Horace are in pursuit of Tennyson and his gang of outlaws,
especially the two remaining Genovesan assassins. When they finally encounter
the Genovesan assassins one of the assassins is shot, but Halt also is shot by
their deadly crossbows and little do they know there’s poison on the bolt.
Later
when it looks like Halt is ok (or is he?) he suddenly falls to the ground.
Finally Will and Horace make the decision for Will to go get Malcolm the healer
(remember him?). When Malcolm reveals that there is a highly deadly poison in
Halt’s system they all don’t know what to do. Malcolm tells them that they have
to make a decision, blue cure or white cure; if Will chooses white and Halt was
infected with blue it’s all over and vice versa. But Will chooses to capture the
Genovesan to find out what poison was used. Will the Genovesan tell Will or
won’t he? Is the legendary Halt unstoppable? Will luck come around? Read to
find out!
Well,
that’s exciting or worrying? Anyway, ANOTHER John Flanagan book added to the
shelf, well, they’re all good books. No comments.
I normally
read the book that comes after the book I’m reviewing before I do a book review
so not all the details will be correct - so don’t get angry. I have heard, and
am assured by the Rangers Apprentice wiki that there IS a 12th book
coming out!!!! Really, wow, the title gives it all away, The Royal Ranger!!!
Who
does Evanlyn marry? I know, you don’t! <<<SPOILER ALERT>>>
this is the first girl ranger, I want to see how Evanlyn and her husband like
this, I wonder if they know or not. The book is coming out in 2013 October,
sorry don’t have the day but it is exciting as hell!!!!! Sadly it’s the last
book in the series. It’s all so sad I wanted to be able to see more of the “The
Royal Ranger” but the other series ‘Brother Band’ will continue - luckily. My
rating for Rangers Apprentice 9 is
3 and a half. Because it could have been more exciting, although it was a heart-in-mouth
time for me when Halt was shot.
The rate tec out.
